Whether you are a young punk band, an experienced rock or metal band, a country singer or inspired solo artist, I can help get your story into words with a full length biography or press release... no matter what genre or style of music you play, your story needs to be put into words by a professional writer within a budget you can afford. That's where I come in...

Welcome to MusicBiowriter.com and my About Me Page. I've been writing about music and artists for half my life - what I do best is capturing into words what you do best. My recent interviews for print publications all over the world include Zakk Wylde, Foo Fighters, Merle Haggard, Henry Rollins, Blue October, Robert Earl Keen, Peter Frampton, Nikki Sixx, Dido, Tori Amos and many others across a wide range of musical styles including Acoustic, Christian, Hip Hop and Rap, Soul and R&B.

Take that next step in your music and put your biography in the hands of a pro with almost two decades of experience. You'll be amazed at the results!

A recent client had this to say about the biography I wrote for him:
"Wow! Holy crap - You did an outstanding job!!! I love it."

My Biography

Popular culture, music and movies have always fascinated me, even as early as kindergarten. My after school and weekend activities involved recording my favorite songs on an old Sears tape deck, watching television reruns and catching Saturday matinee movies with my mother.

My life-long love of music and movies fused with my adult passion for writing at 18 years old when I earned the position of editorial page editor of my high school newspaper. I have 18 years total experience as a professional newspaper writer and editor and as a freelance music journalist. Artists I've interviewed include Elton John, Henry Rollins, Blue October, Neil Young, Tracy Byrd, Foo Fighters, Little Richard, Dido, Willie Nelson, Peter Frampton, Nikki Sixx, Merle Haggard, Zakk Wylde, Janis Joplin's band Big Brother & the Holding Co., Chuck Berry and dozens more.

I am a Texas-based freelance writer specializing in music reviews (both recorded music and live concerts), musician/band interviews, artist biographies and feature stories.

I was born and raised in South East Texas and recently spent six months each in Texarkana and Fort Worth, and four years in Denver, Colorado. When I'm not writing or listening to music, I enjoy watching movies, playing drums and guitar, and gardening. I also love to cook and to go fishing.

My wife, Leslie, was technically the first girlfriend I ever had, way back in sixth grade. We live out in the country with her three children; Joshua, Katherine and Grace. I also have two daughters from my first marriage; Chloe and Bethany.

Here is an FAQ Section I composed to answer commonly asked questions about my services:

1. How does the process work?
Once you call or email me, I will then E-mail you the interview questions. Doing interviews by E-mail lets you have more time to work on your answers, and it also saves me from having to transcribe a recorded interview. (I will conduct an audio interview if you prefer, for a small fee). I also need your most recent music sent to me (postal, links online or mp3s by email). After that is done, you will have your biography in 10-14 working days.
If you need it sooner, we can move you up on our calendar for a small fee.

2. What can I use the biography for?

A bio can be used on your official website, and works great for a My Space page.
Better yet, your bio will work perfectly with a Sonic Bids press kit (or your own press kit), and serves as a great introduction to new fans, concert promoters, venue owners, publicity agents and music industry personnel.

3. Any guarantees?
Yes... You will be happy with your bio or I won't stop working on it. In my many years as a music
journalist, I've never had to re-write an artist bio - I can't promise the same experience, but I do promise that I will not stop working on it until you are happy with it.

4. Why do you require payment up front?
Like all other goods or services, writing is not free (despite the term "Freelance writer"). Many
employers in the past - including newspapers, magazines and freelance clients - have taken text and never paid. Paying up front alleviates that occurrence, and more importantly, it locks in your due date and secures the time in my upcoming calendar to work on the biography for you.

5. Do you have any references?
Yes, I have a number of professional and client references. If you would like a phone number or E-mail address of one or all my references, simply call me at (979) 257-4260 or E-mail me at musicbiowriter@yahoo.com, and I will be glad to provide you with references. You can also see references on the MySpace MusicBioWriter.com site at www.myspace.com/musicbiowriter.

6. What payment methods do you accept?
I prefer Pay Pal - it is secure, easy and instant for both me and you. If you do not have a Pay Pal account, head over to www.paypal.com and sign up for an account. For those of you that do have a Pay Pal account, my account E-mail is musicbiowriter@yahoo.com. If you prefer to pay with a check or money order, E-mail me or call me for my mailing information. Always call or E-mail me to let me know you are sending payment so that I can book the interview and writing time on my calendar.
